Fantasy novelist, with a book out from Pan Macmillan (Tor UK) called "Nights of Villjamur". It's a dying-earth-styled epic fantasy. My agent is John Jarrold. Contact me on my Facebook page.
I just won a copy of your novel, Nights of Villjamurr, at Pat's Fantasy Hotlist, and must admit I can't wait for it to arrive in the post. No need to say I feel I will enjoy it. Time to say goodbye lest I am judged sycophantic.
Lol I'll see if I can dig it out...
Most of the books I get in are from Gollancz but I think my editor has a contact at Tor. I’ll enquire! Maybe check with your agent if he's sent one over to dwscifi.com (Titan publishing) as well just in case.
Hey Mark! Thanks for the add! I just put on my wall actually that those wallpapers were part of a package I downloaded from mininova (the site I use for most of my downloads) It's hard to find good pictures you're right and it's not often that I find ones as good as these. It's just a question of looking around. Try mininova though and let me know if you come across anything I might've missed!
Also, you have a book coming out? exciting! Good luck with that! Maybe I'll get a copy into review - if so I'll send you the link of the review once it's up!
Sounds like great fun to me too, Mark. This time last year we were gearing up for a week's stay in a fabulous fishing cottage in Cornwall. My wife won the holiday in a National Trust competition. Three of our good friends from Kent we hadn't seen in a year came too and we all had a great time. Crapped myself visiting Tintagel (serious fear of heights) but great for all that and the whole thing capped by that amazing storm. The waves were genuinely forty feet high and the cottage right by the sea. The waves came over the house and took the entire porch wall away. We were just talking about how much we are missing it this time round, tentative plans made to book it this time. Best laid plans and all that...
The very cottage, Guys Cottage, In Port Quinn. Ah, happy memories. Must make of it a mission to be back there some day soonish.
Hope you had a good day, Mark. Skimming stones across the lake up North? That day or a different one? Not a bad way to see another year in! I know what you mean about networks out there. I recently got sucked into Facebook when I knew I shouldn't (and told myself I wouldn't) but some of my musical idols are on there and actually left me comments, so I'm sort of on the drug now, skirting that dreaded line between friendliness and unwonted sycophancy!
Hope I can get to some of the Sci Fi festival in London. On a panel with China M. eh? Might be worth going just to see you trying not to be tongue-tied!
Oh man, I'm getting seriously old. :-( I don't remember this little chat - well, at least until I re-read it. :-( Excuse me, been having some dumb moments lately (I also realized yesterday that I gave the publishers who send me ARC's the wrong address)! :-(
