I'm in this year, though I doubt I will manage the full 50k. I find the servers aren't too bad in the mornings GMT, presumably because the opposite side of the world is still asleep :)

I particularly like cyberpunk and superheroes :) I used to run an online bookstore silveroak.co.uk and have written non-fic articles for it and a few other places. I have also been trying to get past the 30k word mark on a novel for about five years. I live in Ireland with my husband, daughter and cat :)

Progress, discernible but slow

The WIP I thought might be dead has been successfully resurrected. I've spent 5 years messing around with bits and pieces, blaming plot holes for the stall. Finally I managed to construct an ending I was happy with and felt some motivation to write toward. It was then I discovered everything was stalled because my protagonist had no motivation to do anything much at all *rolls eyes*

If you've been pushing for 30k on your novel for five years, I'll suggest you don't try Nanowrimo in November - It's 50k by the end of the month. It certainly gets the juices flowing though.
