Wonderlands

I would have to say Brian Froud is pretty much top of the list for me. I adore Arthur Rackham, traces of his beautiful style has definitely influenced Froud. A more contemporary artist also has traces of Rackham's style - Keith Thompson. A link of which I have already placed up in the Forums.

Check his work out. Incredible - www.keiththompsonart.com

I appreciate his surreal qualities and how twisted his visions are. I have too many other favourites to mention, but I'm sure you'll all remind me of the other masters.

One of my all-time favorites is Boris Vallejo http://www.imaginistix.com

I dunno its quite a tricky question, I do love Boris Vallejo's work as well as Julie Bells. Other artists I like in the genre include Brian Rood, Martin McKenna (His orc piece was spectacular) along with people like Dorian Cleavenger and Glen Fabry.

I also like what a number of people would claim in pin up art for example Lorenzo Sperlonga (although Im more into his Fantasy prints than his pin up stuff.) Likewise I also enjoy artwork from people like Dan Dos Santos and Larry Rostant as well as John Howe. I suppose if a piece stands out for me then I tend to look up the artist to see what else theyve done.

Got a big place in my heart for Patrick Woodroffe and Roger Dean, to name but a couple out of dozens:)

I'm amazed how much my tastes have changed over the years - some likes remain constant, but others fall into the "Why did I like this?" category.

Well, tough questions. There are a lot of artists that bring joy to my eye and soul, a little too many to mention all. But I'll mention the last one that impressed me with his works, Alejandro Teran. He is very talented.

Oh yes!! Her work is gorgeous -- reminds me of Grimm's fairy tales I read so long ago:)

Lots of greats being mentioned here, and my favourite has possibly already been listed. But at the moment Joseph Clement Coll is really doing it for me, well as far as Black and White goes.

Let me say that Jesus and Javier Carmona of Madrid, Spain are up and coming fantasy artists. They did the cover for my Roland of the High Crags:Evil Arises. Hopefully they'll do the covers for the rest of the series.

They're at www.carmonaart.com

The artist who really turned me to fantasy art when I was in my teens was Rodney Matthews, an uncle got me "in search of forever" and I was hooked and still hold is art in high regard. Other artists who I'm really enjoying are Michael Komarck, Wayne Reynolds, Ralph Horsley and Rob Alexander.

I also like the art of Luis Royo, particularly his earlier stuff and that of Frank Frazetta and Boris and Julie.

Truth is I'm finding new artist to admire daily in the Fantasy genre, who deliver at a very high quality.
