Wonderlands

Hi there all, I'm doing the shameless self-promtion bit here ;) Just to say chapter one of The Sweet Scent of Blood is now available to read on my website. There's less than a week to go [TSSoB releases 4th Sept] before my very first book lands on the shelves - virtual or real - and will be waiting hopefully for someone/anyone/everyone to buy it and give it a wonderful new home ;)

I had a lot of fun creating my characters and my world, and I'm thrilled that my book's made it into print. I hope that everyone who reads it enjoys the experience as much as I did with the writing ;)

Hurrah! Does a little dance - this is excellent news. Is it okay if I link this over to my blog?

It is done...and I've decided to hold a competition too...I'll go buy a copy of the book on the day to boost sales and give it away on my site. But more closer to the time - go, check it out: www.myfavouritebooks.blogspot.com .

Squeeing on your behalf.

Best wishes with this, Suzanne: are you at a nervous stage, an excited stage or now just ready for whatever happens?

Thank you ;) And think it's nerves and excitment both - not sure which one will win out come next week!

Don't know if it helps Suzanne but here the FT review, likewise don't forget to buy those Liquorice Torpedo's and the edible glitter. Failing all else would make an interesting graphic for the website.

As you may have seen in Falcata Times we tend to champion new authors as they appear, so it was to great delight when we opened the post and discovered Suzanne’s book. From the opening passage Suzanne’s characters jumped off the page and took the reader by the hand through a London that blended myth and legend with the modern world. What also worked very well was the author’s interpretation of the creatures of myth such as Vampires explaining their condition through believable medical terms and presented a tale that will stay with the reader long after the final page is turned. Definitely an author to watch in the Urban Fantasy category as the undead and fay face off in a no holds barred tale.

That's great, drosdelnoch, thank you for posting your review here ;) and yes, the Liquorice Torpedos and glitter are a fab idea, just need to get my website skills to move up a couple of notches ;)

DD - hope you don't mind - I've copied the review across to my site as part of the post I've done to advertise Sweet Scent of Blood. I'll get Mark to buy you booze at Gamesday...I assume you ARE going?

Unfortunately not this year Liz (unless those kind folks at GW send me a press pass and also give me a seat on a bus to the event from a local store), I sat down and did my best financial accountant impression (yep, got out the ol calculator, wads of paper, various pens) did the maths on the outgoings (car repair, sisters wedding (includes suit for me) and incomings (sometimes its just not worth opening the wallet) and its making it a lean month.

I even tried using the tried and tested government methods of accounting (is that too topical?) and I managed to make it into the black (although only by pennies.)
